LeagueBot
Our story

Built by players,
for players.

It started with table tennis.

I'm Paul, a keen table tennis player and racquet sports enthusiast. At my club, the box league lived on a sheet of paper pinned to the noticeboard. Not a spreadsheet, not a website. If you wanted to know where you stood you had to go to the hall, squint at someone's handwriting and hope the table had been updated recently.

I started mentioning this to friends and opponents from other clubs, expecting them to say their club did something more sophisticated. They did not. Same paper. Same noticeboard. Same mystery rankings.

As someone who builds software for a living, the fix felt obvious. Players are already on their phones. They're already on WhatsApp. They message each other after a good match anyway. That message might as well do something useful. So I built Ace.

“I didn’t want to manage my club’s events in a spreadsheet. And as a player, I wanted the least amount of friction possible to log my results.”

What we believe
01
Ace speaks when spoken to.
The bot never initiates contact. Players engage on their own terms, in their own time. No notification spam, no unsolicited messages. Ever.
02
Meet people where they already are.
Players already live in WhatsApp. LeagueBot doesn't ask anyone to download a new app, create an account, or learn a new interface. Zero friction is a feature, not an afterthought.
03
The admin is freed, not replaced.
Every league has a person who cares about it. Admins can do everything Ace can, and much more. The goal is to make that rarely necessary, but never impossible.
